About

Independent EV coverage, built for Australia

We rank and recommend; we are not owned by a network, brand, or dealer group. Trust is the product — so here's exactly how this site works.

What we are

EV Australia is an independent information hub for Australian EV owners and buyers: where to charge, where to drive, and where to save money. Australia passed 454,000 EVs on the road by the end of 2025, and EVs hit 16.4% of new car sales in the first half of 2026 — yet the information is fragmented across 45+ charging apps, overseas-centric media, and brand-owned sites with agendas. We exist to be the independent, local, always-current single destination.

Editorial rules we actually enforce

  • Australia-only. Every price in AUD, every range in WLTP km, every charger on Australian soil.
  • Dated claims. Any price, deal or incentive carries a visible verification date. Stale data is the #1 trust-killer, so we kill it first.
  • Numbers first. Lead with the figure, then the explanation.
  • Frameworks over fake precision. We teach comparison methods rather than inventing universal prices that don't survive contact with your postcode.
  • Neutrality with evidence. We can say a network is unreliable when the check-in data says so — and we show the data.

How we make money

Display advertising, affiliate commissions where natural (home chargers, cables), and later, clearly labelled lead generation for novated-lease and dealer enquiries. Every commercial placement is labelled, rankings methodology is public, and partners never influence the order of anything. If that ever changes, this page changes first.

Corrections

Spotted something stale or wrong? That's a bug, not an embarrassment — tell us and we'll fix it with a dated correction note.
