mini EV  (Australia)

hello there,

I'm new to the ev world. i have a 1976 leyland mini that i'm converting to an ev. its gonna run the usual dc 9", DC-DC CONVERTOR with either 120 or 144 volts! i hope to get 50 kms range and speeds of 110km/hr. i hope i can keep the costs down to about $10000. i'm doing the bodywork at the moment, slow process!!

looking forward to contributing to this site and learning lots!

Re: mini EV  (Australia)

Huzzah!

I was going to convert a mini to start with, but sadly they are quite rare in Perth (particularly an old roundie like yours), and probably too small for my requirements anyway.

Good luck! I'll keep track of your progress, it'd be great to see an electric mini on the road.

Oh, and you should visit the Ausmini forums, there is one other guy converting a mini in the eastern states, and one guy in England who has converted a mini ute (I think it was)

Good luck!
