Hi Matt and welcome to the forums. You might want to check out Bj's page for smaller projects, specifically "the Big red Car"

Yeah i've just started my own mini EV conversion inspired by Bj's project. You can check out my blog on http://www.diyelectriccar.com/blogs/2007/10/the-eeeveedub.html, should be fun. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Re: Hi Al  (Australia)

That is a great starting project! A good idea, too.

I wonder if I could convince my stepdad that the little minibike he has would be even better as an electric bike? :P

This here (www.gizmology.net/tanks.htm) is a project I want to do when my daugter is a couple of years old... *grin*

Love the tank:)
That makes me think, I've got the starter motor from the Charade that I might be able to put in to something.

Re: Hi Al  (Australia)

Congrats on the website, well done (dotnetnuke, good choice but I’m biased;-). For many years I've toyed with the idea of converting an old beetle to electic because mechanically it would be very simple to do but have found it rather daunting to decide on what motors, batteries etc. A chance to chew ears could be just what I need to get started.
