Re: 2 seaters  (Australia)
Automatics aren’t the best of cars to convert. A standard automatic gearbox needs to be turning all the time which works for a petrol motor but is very inefficient for an electric motor. Plus there are quite a few losses through the talk converter etc. I have heard rumours that some auto transmissions can effectively have the talk converter removed but so far I don’t know anyone that has actually done it.
When you convert a manual you normally take the clutch out and use only 1 gear for 90% of your driving so it’s no harder to drive than an automatic although technically you would still need a manual license.
Power steering can be done however it will most likely require an additional motor for the power steering unit. There are a few cars that have electronic power steering which would make things easier but off the top of my head I couldn’t tell you which.

If you use 2 motors dos this increase the continuous rating speed

2 motors in itself will not increase your MAXIMUM speed. It can increase your acceleration.
Speed is a function of the number of revolutions per minute, adding another motor does not increase this. The exception is if your motor is underpowered and can never get up to its max speed. What adding another motor will do is increase the amount of available power and therefore your acceleration, it also increases your power usage.
That being said every motor is different. One 11kw motor with a max speed of 6000 RPM will give you a higher speed than 2 x 8kw small motors with a max speed of 3000RPM but the 2 8kw motors will give you a lot more power.
Conversely a single 11kh motor with a max speed of 3000rpm will give you more power than 2 x 4kw motors with a max speed of 6000rpm but less speed.

Hi 3wheeler, The only "auto" conversion i know of is rob masons mustang (yes its an auto for the moment) it is possible to do an auto tranny conversion, but i too wouldnt suggest it. However, if you eliminate the gearbox altogether and have a single ratio you can licence it as an auto. An example would be rob masons triton ute. It uses two 11" kostovs to directly drive the diff. He's used a normal auto gear selector for telling the controller whether ou want to be going forward backwards or not at all. Matt
