Just wondering what the average cost of a conversion is in Australia. I hear American conversions cost between $6-10k, i would guess over here would be $8-13k? Is that a reasonable guess? I have been able to source prices for the big things motors, batteries etc but how much does it cost to get an adapter plate or battery boxes made? Or to do the suspension and brakes?

Hi Matt,
By my calculations a conversion should cost between $8000 and $10000 assuming you are buying all new components and excluding the car and labour. At least that’s what mine is coming out to. There are areas where savings can be made if you have the time, one example is that the charger cost me $1800, I could have used 10 separate 12V chargers for somewhere between $200 - $1000 if I had thought things through. Also my contacts when I first got started were not very good so I paid a little over the odds for some things. Because I’m going for range I probably went a bit over the top on batteries and could have saved a bit there if I wanted to.
