Can someone please advise me?
I would like to convert a Daihatsu Charade that I will buy from a mate, to an EV, and as I'm retired and on a carers pension caring for my wife I don't have a lot of spare funds so I scrounge around looking for parts I can, hopefully, use.
I have found a 240 Volt, 3-Phase AC induction motor, 3HP, (about 2.4KW I believe), 1410RPM, 4 Pole motor and I would like to know if I can use this motor in a conversion in the Daihatsu and if so, where can I contact for all the other parts?
I would also like to know if I can use T-105 TROJAN 6 VOLT 225 A/H batteries and if so, how many would I need.

Thanking you in advance for your advice.

Sincerely,

Bill Whiteside

Hi Bill,

Sorry about the late reply.

My conversion was using a DC motor so I don't know a lot about AC Motors. I suggest dropping by www.waeva.asn.au a few of the guy's over there are really up with AC setups. I was originally looking at the same trojans, they are used a lot in Forklifts and golf carts. You might want to check these guy's out on ebay, that's where I got my batteries from.
