1989 Nissan Pulsar Auto  (Australia)

Gday all, I'm new to this Australian forum but I've been lurking on the DIY Forum for about 6 months now.

I'm planning and saving for 2 car-related projects: converting my 1995 Chrysler Neon to LPG and the 1989 Nissan Pulsar to batteries. I'm based 30 minutes south of Brisbane, and it's a 20 minute-22km commute to work at 70km/h - ideal conditions for an EV.

I'm keeping a blog: http://ev-pulsar.blogspot.com and I've made some half-hearted enquiries to the EPA about a grant but I don't think they will fund a private conversion.

So, that's the story. If anyone's managed to successfully convert an auto to run on batteries, I'd love to see how you did it.

Does anyone know of a list of locations where EV's can be charged? Qld in particular?

I've received a reply from the Logan Hyperdome advising that they do not have recharge facilities.

The people at work might let me run an extension cord out to the carpark, but that'll take a lot of interpersonal skills :)

Unfortunately I can't help you but if you find any or if anyone else knows of any please let me know. I'm going to start up a register of charging points. I know there are some places in NSW but unfortunately can't find the site again that had them listed. I'll keep looking though and give an update when I come across it again.
